THE RITUAL

90 seconds is all it takes.

Sift softly

Add 1–2 teaspoons of matcha into your bowl. Sifting removes clumps and lets the flavour open up smoothly.

Pour with care

Add a little hot water. Not boiling. Around 80°C is ideal, warm enough to wake the matcha, gentle enough to avoid bitterness.

Whisk till it wakes

Move the chasen in a quick M or W motion for 15–20 seconds, until a soft layer of foam forms on top.

Sip. Slow down.

Hold the bowl with both hands. Take a moment. This is not multitasking tea. This is your pause.

Is this actually from Japan, or is it relabelled?

Yes. We source directly from Kagoshima, Japan. No distributors, no aggregate suppliers. The origin is real and we can trace every batch.

I've never made matcha before. Do I need special equipment?

A chasen and a bowl. That's it. Our Starter Kit has everything. Just let boiled water sit 3 minutes before pouring.

Why does this cost more than supermarket matcha?

Ceremonial grade, shade-grown, stone-ground. Supermarket matcha is often Chinese-origin relabelled. Ours is neither.

How much caffeine? Can I have it at night?

About 35mg per cup — roughly half a coffee. L-theanine slows absorption. No spike, no crash. Fine until 6pm.
