Hand-cut from a single piece of bamboo, with eighty fine tines fanned out like a little bamboo flower. The Awa Chasen is the not-so-secret reason your matcha goes from "fine" to finished - the tool that turns powder into pillow. Lightweight, lump-busting, and built for the slow, satisfying ritual of a properly whisked bowl. Equally happy making thin matcha (usucha), thick matcha (koicha), or a cloud-topped latte on a Tuesday morning.
How to use
How to use
Soak the chasen, the bamboo whisk, in warm water for a few seconds to soften the tines before whisking. Use the chashaku, the bamboo scoop, to measure your matcha. Add warm water and whisk in a quick zig-zag motion until smooth and frothy.
Care
Care
Rinse the chasen gently with warm water after every use. Avoid soap, harsh scrubbing, or dishwashers. Let it air-dry completely before storing, ideally on a whisk stand. Wipe the chashaku with a clean, dry cloth after use. Avoid soaking it in water.
